Boston, MA – March 10, 2026 – Anodyne Nanotech presented preclinical data on its Apelin RA microneedle patch at the 16th Edition Intrinsic Capacity, Frailty & Sarcopenia Research Conference for Healthy Longevity, held in Washington, DC.
Dr. Hojatollah Rezaei Nejad, Chief Technology Officer at Anodyne, presented findings demonstrating that transdermal microneedle delivery of Apelin RA reverses muscle weakness and fiber atrophy in aged mice, highlighting the potential of Anodyne’s platform to address age-related muscle decline.
The presentation further highlighted Anodyne’s broader platform potential. With its lead candidate—a once-weekly GLP-1 patch for obesity advancing to the clinic —and the capability of its microneedle technology to enable co-formulation of peptides in a single patch, Anodyne is uniquely positioned to explore combination therapies. This includes the potential to co-administer GLP-1 RA alongside Apelin RA, targeting sarcopenic obesity by addressing both metabolic dysfunction and muscle degeneration.
